out with the old, in with 2009
Hollie's parents offered us 4 tickets to see the Enchanted Lights at Rock City. On Tuesday night, we headed up the mountain with Paul, Hollie, and their season passes. You can see in this picture how tight some of the walkways were. This wasn't even the smallest, Needle's Eye.
One part was a tunnel.
The end of the walk brings you to the overlook over Chattanooga. The giant star is visible for most of the drive up to Rock City.
Jaclyn, Hollie, and I at the top
You can supposedly see seven states from the overlook on a very clear day. The map everyone is standing on in this picture shows the states.
We went inside and listened to a guy play the dulcimer, electric dulcimer, and guitar (maybe some other instruments). He had a pedal that repeated what he played so that he could add all the instruments together.
This was a neat swinging bench with a seat made of one piece of wood.
Rock City birdies
hee hee
During a lot of the rest of the time we were in Collegedale, Ryan and Jaclyn were in packing mode for their move on Jan. 10. Ryan's labels are very descriptive, don't you think?
the packing chaos
our New Year's Eve shot before Jaclyn and Ryan left to go to bed early
This is what we did for a majority of the time, including New Year's day - Settlers!
This is NOT good. No one roll a seven!
Jonathan and Kelli watching the ping-pong game
Ryan, Jaclyn, and Hollie met us for lunch Friday at Los Potros for some Mexican food. Hollie modeled her new earrings from Lindsey.
leaving full and happy
Ryan wasn't excited to be trading in Lucille, but I think his new truck is worth it.
Friday night game action - Mystery Museum, which is strangely like Clue . . .
As always, the game action made us a little crazy.
Right before we left - posing with Ryan, Jaclyn, and their new F-150!
