life recently

Here are random pictures to show you what we've been up to in the last week since I've been back.

Ryan found a great deal on a 3-year-old riding mower while I was gone. He finished the whole yard with it in only 30 minutes the other day.

We had lots of visitors at the house on Tuesday night. First Nikie and Carson stopped by to say hi. Then Becky (milk carton) and the girls (Olivia - cat & Gabby - Oreo cookie) stopped by for some reverse trick-or-treating to give us some candy.

You can see that Olivia sampled some of her treats herself!

Carson came to visit during rec. while Nikie and Chadd had a football game. He made himself right at home - even changed the channel a couple of times after stealing the remote. He's walking really well now

We made lasagna for lunch yesterday and actually sat at the table to eat it. We even broke out two of the goblets to drink lemonade out of and used the berry dishes we got as a gift. Felt more like Sabbath using the special stuff. See my new John Lester shirt???

We also made potato salad while we were waiting and enjoyed both for supper tonight after golfing. It's nice to have stuff to eat as leftovers and to have for lunches. Makes less evenings of trying to decide what to make.

Last night was the seniors' benefit. They had a live auction, summer cookout meal, and a variety show. I especially enjoyed Amber's aerial silks routine. She's mostly taught herself by hanging them from a tree in her back yard and watching YouTube videos.

Ryan and Aaron schemed up the idea of going golfing on this beautiful November day, so we headed to Kenny Perry's Country Creek course in Franklin, KY (about 10 miles up the road).

The fall colors here are really pretty in spots. This course had lots of pretty yellow trees. Aaron's cart is in front. He let me borrow his brother's old clubs, which I much appreciated.

I was proud of the couple shots I actually got enough backspin on with short irons to make a "good divot."

Here's us in our cart. I promise we weren't driving while I took this. :)

Ryan taking the last put of our 18 holes. We finished just in time for the new 4:52p sundown. Living in central time is weird sometimes.

It's nice you're enjoying some time together again! What fun the golf outing must have been. And the meals sound scrumptious. We're all about left-overs too. Your dining room table looks neat. Can't wait to see it.
