pedicure

Yesterday turned out to be an unusual day for me. I left campus with Nikie at 12:00p to go order our softball team's shirts at a place in Gallatin. on the way, we stopped at Taco Bell for a quick lunch. After ordering kelly green shirts (Nikie wouldn't go for camo), I dropped Nikie off at Walmart to pick something up for J.P. and I drove to the Nissan dealership. I had to drop off a receipt for them sponsoring a hole in our golf tournament. We then drove back into Portland to go to the bank and deposit lots of money. Our final stop was to pick up Sonic blasts for my faculty family kids. By the time we did all that, it was 2:30p.

Last night, I went with Nikie and got a pedicure in Portland from a little Vietnamese lady. I'm pretty sure it's not worth what you pay, but oh well. You can be the judge of how my feet look! When we got back, I watched The Pursuit of Happyness with Nikie and went home around 10:00p.
Today will be almost as crazy, except all the running around at lunch time. I'll probably eat at home today. I am teaching photography for Don at 1:00p. We're taking motion shots of cars driving by on 109. We'll see how that goes. At least it's nice out. Yesterday we could have taken motion shots of rain.

I'm going with Nikie to the coaches' meeting for our softball league in Hendersonville at 6:30, then we're going to buy Nikie a new glove for the season. You'll be seeing softball pics on here before too long!

sprung

I am sooooooooooooo glad it's the weekend. And this weekend it actually feels like spring. At 9:00p tonight, it was still 64 degrees outside. The trees are all budding and campus is starting to look green again.

This butterfly would be sad to see my front yard now. I'm happier though, because they mowed all of these weeds down.

These are in the Prayer Garden on front campus.

The good news: My yard is mowed.
The bad news: All the grass is on the driver's side of the car.

kinda random

I have finally done it. I am so bored that I watched American Idol. It was enough to make me get off the couch and want to do something else. I'm kind of glad faculty meetings are usually on Tuesdays, because there's nothing good on TV that day. Faculty meeting got switched to tomorrow, so I'm home tonight.

I'm trying to keep myself occupied so that I stay awake long enough that when I do go to sleep, I can sleep all night. Last night I fell asleep around 7 and it didn't last. I've been fighting a minor cold with a major sore throat since Saturday. Yesterday was probably the worst of it and I feel much better today. So now I'm bored . . . and I couldn't imagine blogging without any pictures, so I got my camera and took a couple. This is my lit candle assortment.

Ryan was here this weekend and we didn't even take one picture with us in it. I was on supervision and we had about 300 people here for music festival. Add that to not feeling good, and I didn't manage to take any pictures. I do have some of the festival, but they're really not that interesting. Here's one of the gym during the Saturday night program.

My parents got me new dishes and flatware (I exchanged the silverware you got me mom) for my birthday, so I took a picture of those too, for your viewing pleasure. Jaclyn and I started watching Peter Pan (thanks Grant) at her place on Sunday before I had to head back here at the end of Winter Break. I love Peter Pan movies. I have 3 now: Hook, Peter Pan (Disney animated), and Finding Neverland. I now own 7 bird feeders, thanks to my grandparents who got me a really nice hummingbird feeder, and Nikie & Chadd, who got me a clear window seed feeder. Now I need a sponsor to supply me with food!

I also got money to buy a bookcase for my living room. I took Ryan on Sunday down to look with me at some furniture stores. He fell asleep in the car on the way down. I guess he couldn't keep up with my demanding supervision schedule! :) Anyway, I found a nice one for only $300. What a steal . . . hmm. So I'll either keep looking or save money to get that one, if I can get it in the right finish. I just like it because it's bigger - 3 sections wide instead of only one (click to see larger pic.).

Anywho, I'm going to pick up the things that have accumulated on the floor in my bedroom and get ready for bed. I can hardly keep my eyes open. Yawn.

gardeners

little cousins

After getting back from Colorado on Thursday night I did laundry, packed again, and drove to Calhoun.

We celebrated my birthday after Sabbath lunch and I got 2 cakes! Ella really appreciated me blowing all of the smoke in her face. Look at her reaction. It's pretty funny!

The other reason we crashed at Joy's was to see Evan. He was born on December 8. Grandma Dut made him smile for this picture. Now Ella is a big sister too. It's definitely the way to go. You always have someone to be in charge of =).

Here's another picture of Evan that I took. We tried to get a good one of Ella with him, but it didn't appear that he liked it too much.

what i did on my vacation . . .

I got to be a ski trip sponsor this year for Highland. The best part about it was that I got to FLY (not ride the stinky bus for 24 hours)!

The view from our condo balcony.

The girls and I geared up for hitting the slopes by watching last year's video.

These are actually the same group of condos I stayed in when I was an MPA sponsor in 2003.

I couldn't resist dropping into the deep powder from the pile of plowed snow.

Luckily, Ryan's break went through the Sunday we were there and he took 2 personal days to be there a little longer while we were in CO.

The top of Rendezvous Lift, gateway to the bowls. We were at Copper on Sun., Mon., and Wed. and Keystone on Tues.

Mary Jane and Randy spent their spring break on the slopes again this year too.

After Ryan left, I pretty much stayed with Nikie and Chadd for Tuesday and Wednesday. This is on the lift at Keystone on Tuesday.

This is the view from the "Summit" at Keystone, with Breckenridge in the distance.

The girls from my condo.

Ok! We won't walk on it!

I liked this picture, even though I have no idea who the jumper is.

Me!

Chadd's friend Lisa convinced us to take a T-bar (Storm King) up to the real top of the mountain. It was the best view I saw all week.

Me taking on a box in the terrain park.

After 3.5 lovely hours in the Denver airport, I was more than ready to fly home. I got to sit with Mary Jane and Randy, which made the flight back a lot more enjoyable than the one out.
